Costume Idea
Started making my Royal Renaissance Ball Gown for our New Years Eve Extravaganza using a long dress from my closet. I had fun modifying it by adding the sleeves and collar from a children’s Renaissance costume that I bought at a thrift store. Then I went on Etsy for ideas for a fancy headdress and made a spiked crown with little copper colored mirrors. I am so proud of my beautiful designs. Looking forward to rockin’ it on New Years Eve!
Renn Fest vibe
The Maryland renaissance festival is going on now through October 22 in Anne Arundel County. If you haven’t been there before, it is one of the largest such Fairs in the country. Unique among most festivals, including renaissance festivals, the Maryland Renaissance Festival utilizes a storyline and progresses each year forward in the timeline of Henry VIII, through all his reign and all six of his wives. HFS Band is returning to the Main Event Ballroom for 2024! This year, keeping in line with our Royal Renaissance Ball theme, the room is called Chateau Fontainebleu, and these guys promise to rock us into 2024! We can’t wait, their music was spot on perfect and I definitely heard strains of “Hot Razors in My Heart” coming from the room. This is going to be the biggest, baddest New Years Eve in Baltimore yet.
